Nathan D. Meeks

Candidate for Grant County Superior Court 2

Hello! I’m Nathan Meeks and I humbly ask for your support in the upcoming Republican Primary on May 7, 2024.

My life has been centered around Grant County, Indiana. I was raised in a simple home outside Fowlerton where I spent my childhood riding bikes, playing basketball and baseball, and getting lost in the cornfields surrounding our house. It was a childhood of a bygone era. In all of my thoughts and dreams, it always seemed nearly impossible that I would run for Judge in Grant County. But, now that dream has come to reality.

After I graduated from Madison-Grant High School, I graduated from Ball State with highest honors in Construction Technology, but decided to further my dream of becoming an attorney. Despite setbacks and discouragement from those around me, I proved the faithfulness of God and graduated from Indiana University – Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.

After graduating law school and becoming licensed in Ohio and Indiana, I found my way back home to Grant County. I married my high school sweetheart, Victoria Dunn, and began working at the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office. I was responsible for prosecuting cases involving violent and non-violent crimes against others and property, including battery, theft, intimidation, drug possession, drunk driving, and others. When an opening became available, I took charge of the Child Support Division and, with the help of 7 wonderful staff members, successfully managed and prosecuted thousands of child support delinquency cases.

After leaving the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office, I revived my private legal practice and began working as a Grant County Public Defender. Currently, I have one of the largest private practices in Grant County where I represent clients in criminal matters, family law matters, adoptions, guardianships, Department of Child Services cases, estate matters, contractual disputes, and other legal areas. I have repeatedly been awarded among National Trial Lawyer’s Top 40 attorneys under the age of 40 and I am the current President of the Grant County Bar (Attorney) Association.

Those that know me best, though, know I enjoy ministering and declaring the Gospel. As an ordained minister, I have the distinct privilege of pastoring and delivering a message of God’s immeasurable love every Sunday morning. I have the pleasure of counseling others, encouraging them in their times of need, and watching them grow spiritually. Some may wonder how being a minister and being an attorney can coincide, but the two areas complement one another and allow me to bring compassion, wisdom, and understanding to both professions. As Judge, the combination of the two will be even greater. As Judge, I can still pull from all of these experiences, including ministerial, and dispense Justice in an honest and fair manner.

I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail and ask for your continued support in electing Meeks as Judge!
